Given that most of us were Class of '85, I was wondering where everyone went to school, and what are your memories from that time?
I was blessed that my parents moved us to Fort Walton Beach, Florida in '82, so I got to do my high school years at Fort Walton Beach H.S. It's your average AAAA 1-story brick HS built, ironically, the year that we all were born. I had a blast.
I played Baseball, and was active in Choir & Thespians as well.
Biggest thing about that time was the advent of MTV, and the birth of the music video, and a whole new genre of music that they just don't seem to write anymore.
Living in an area boasting some of Florida's most spectacular beaches, I was into surfing, body-boarding, sandboarding, anything to be near the water.
Once my parents had our house finished over in Destin, we moved over there, and I began having to drive down the length of Okaloosa Island to get over to FWB, and to school. It's 3 miles of some of the most beautiful beaches on Earth; naturally, my attendance at school took a bit of a nosedive come spring, when I had to drive that gauntlet of distractions...:)
I graduated in June of '85, on my birthday and, 17 days later was reporting for basic training with the Navy, in Orlando.
I hope everyone else had as great a high school experience as I, 'cause I had a blast.

Re: High School Memories?
Wed, November 22, 2006 - 5:44 AMClass of 85!!!! woo hoo
what a weird year for me. Living in Louisiana, very conservative for a semi punk rebel rouser who bubble bounced walked everywhere she went, lol.
i had a decent time in high school. went "steady" with a senior from my sophmore year to the beginning of my senior year
drove a beat up 71 Mach 1 mustang, but damn i loved that car
had a Snoopy phone
i loved art and going to the movies,
remember listening to Shock the Monkey, Def Leppard, Men at Work, etc
i waited a year after i graduated to go to college, and then it took three or four times of trying to actually get my degree going.
LOVED MTV
leaving school early my senior year
loads of babysitting
tons of changes for a few years after graduation. very,.........greasy and creepy. blech.
but, late 89/ early 90 things definitely hit an upswing.
I Came Into My Own.
and Here We are.

Re: High School Memories?
Tue, April 3, 2007 - 11:40 AMI was an eccentric weird artsy kind of a kid...kind of hippie at a time when hippie wasn't THE thing to be. I was in most of the school plays, musical theatre, did a lot of creative stuff with my equally eccentric weird, artsy friends.
